TORONTO, ON, Wednesday, Oct 21, 2026 - The Fitness Industry Council of Canada (FIC) and NexScale, a Canadian AI-native software company focused on member retention, today announced a partnership to help Canadian fitness and wellness operators, especially multi-location brands, keep more members active, engaged and connected to their community. FIC member clubs now have access to a preferred member offer on NexScale. The partnership's first joint initiative is a free webinar for operators on Thursday, November 12, 2026.
Retention is preventive health
Fitness and wellness clubs are where preventive health happens every day. When a member quietly stops showing up, the club loses revenue, and a person steps away from a habit that protects their long-term health. For multi-location operators, these early signs are easy to miss across many sites, busy teams and disconnected tools.
Many operators treat losing members as a marketing problem and spend more to find new ones. But when members keep quietly slipping out the back door, every new sign-up goes into a leaking bucket. Retention is not a marketing problem. It is about noticing early who is pulling away, and acting before they leave.
NexScale brings retention intelligence on top of the club management system an operator already uses, so there is no need to change CRM. It spots the members who are drifting away early, often weeks before they cancel, and helps the team reach out with a personal message in the club's own brand voice. A person on the operator's team approves every message, and NexScale follows up and reports back on each step.

Dr. Soodeh Farokhi, Founder and CEO, NexScale
"Fitness and wellness clubs are on the front line of preventive health in Canada. Every member who keeps moving is a win for that person, for the club and for our communities," said Dr. Soodeh Farokhi, Founder and CEO of NexScale. "We built NexScale in Canada, we price it in Canadian dollars, and we want to serve Canadian businesses first. Partnering with FIC, the national voice of our industry, is the right way to help operators keep their members and build places where people feel they belong."
A member-only offer for FIC clubs
As an FIC member benefit, clubs that join NexScale through this partnership receive 10% off their NexScale subscription for the first 12 months. For multi-location brands, the offer applies to every location as it comes on board. To claim it, FIC members can contact the NexScale team at partners@nexscale.ai. Operators who are not yet FIC members can learn about membership at www.FitnessIndustryCanada.ca. FIC also joins NexScale's Industry Ecosystem, which brings together organizations that help Canadian fitness and wellness businesses grow.

Zach Weston, Executive Director, Fitness Industry Council of Canada
"Helping Canadians move more and more often by benefiting from the tremendous fitness facilities and programs across Canada is at the heart of what our members do," said Zach Weston, Executive Director of the Fitness Industry Council of Canada. "As the national not-for-profit voice of our industry, we want to introduce our members to organizations that are making a real impact, from single locations to multi-site brands. This partnership gives FIC members preferred access to a Canadian solution, and it starts with education. There could not be a better time to support businesses that are built in Canada."
